Dr. Ruhland is very proud to call St. Paul home and is excited to be opening St. Paul Pet Hospital in his favorite neighborhood. He lives within walking distance of St. Paul Pet Hospital with his wife and their two crazy dogs Maverick and Bombay. Dr. Ruhland was raised on a small dairy farm in central Minnesota near Watkins where his curious mind for science and his love for animals was allowed to flourish. After high school he attended North Dakota State University and graduated with BS degree in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Ruhland left the United States after college and worked in New Zealand before returning in the fall of 2004 to attend the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine. While in Veterinary School Dr. Ruhland placed emphasis on small animal internal medicine and surgery along with traditional veterinary disciplines. Since graduation he has worked as an associate veterinarian at an established practice outside of the city.
In his free time Dr. Eric loves to spend time in the kitchen with a glass of red wine, run marathons, read foodie books, go boating on his vintage Chris Craft, She’s Crafty. He loves the outdoors and is often out on various adventures with his Labrador Maverick.
Danielle Peterson is the Practice Manager at St. Paul Pet Hospital. She owns three cats Angus, Cash and Mama and a horse named Shadow. She has had a love for animals since she was a small child and always knew she wanted to be a Certified Veterinary Technician. Her favorite thing growing up was to take the family pets to their local veterinary hospital. It was at that hospital where she met a technician who became her inspiration. Danielle went to college right after high school and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2006. She has loved her career with pets ever since! Danielle is looking forward to getting to know you and your pet. There is nobody who understands the love you share with your pet better than we do. Together, we will work to insure your pet lives a long, healthy and happy life!
