Pain Management

At St. Paul Pet, managing your pet’s pain is one of our highest priorities. Besides the fact that we don’t like to see animals suffer, studies show that pain actually impairs healing. Since our goal is to promote healing, we have several strategies for controlling pain:

• Constant infusions
• Nerve blocks
• Regional analgesia
• Sustained-release pain patches

Many of these methods are included in the cost for routine surgical procedures. While these methods are generally very safe and beneficial, some do carry risks for some patients. Naturally, your doctor will discuss any potential risks with you.
